Camel milk helps with allergies
Israeli researchers are relying on camel milk to combat food allergies in children. In a small study, eight children overcame severe allergies in a short time.
This is what the newspaper “Jerusalem Post” reported on Monday . The researchers wanted to prove the beneficial effect of milk from the “desert ship” in a larger study conducted at Soroko University Hospital in the city of Beersheva.
Little fat, but unsaturated fatty acids
Camel milk contains only two percent fat and its The composition differs considerably from cow’s, sheep’s or goat’s milk, the researchers explain.
It contains polyunsaturated fatty acids and almost five percent lactose, but these can also be easily digested by people with allergies to lactose.
Unlike cow’s milk
According to the study, the proteins in camel milk are particularly important for the cure and prophylaxis of food allergies.
They have no beta-lactoglobulin and another form of beta -casein – two components of cow’s milk that can cause allergies.
Rich in vitamins
It is also rich in vitamin C, calcium, iron and antibodies, which can enter the bloodstream through the human digestive system.
Eight children aged four months to ten years participated in the study , who suffered from severe allergic symptoms such as rash or asthma that could not be helped by conventional forms of treatment.
